SCC received 1.5 inches of rain yesterday( 2 inches for the week).
There was no damage to the course. Please avoid any low lying or wet areas.

This week at Sunset: 7-17-2017 Sunrise @ Sunset CC This week at Sunset we’ve started off with continuing showers brought on by the heavy damp air. The temperatures have cooled off as a result, but expect it to warm up as we get closer to the weekend. For the month of July we haven’t received nearly the amount of rain we received last month. This week at Sunset: 5-22-2017 As with most of my blogs, it seems, I kick things off with a brief overview of the weather. This week we are expected to receive 1-3” of rain by Wednesday followed by a cold front with highs topping out in the high 70’s in the latter part of the week. We will certainly take the rain and hopefully it’s more of a soaker and not a downpour like the last storm. NWS Tallahassee Forecast 5/22 This week is another busy one for the maintenance crew. We will be focused on cleaning up the golf course in the pinestraw beds as well as weedeating areas that are overgrown. As usual, we’ll continue to stay on mowing rough and the shortcut areas. With the warmer temperatures and rain that we’ve had equals to more growth from summer grasses and weeds. There have been some signs of goosegrass in a few of the fairways. I will be spot-spraying those areas with a chemical that will kill the goosegrass without thinning out the Bermuda. I did...
