This
week at Sunset: 3-21-2017
Spring
is finally here. Ironiclly, we had patches of frost in some places on the first
day of spring. We did have a freeze the last week of winter and it certainly put
a damper on any warm-season growth. The centipede around the pool and in
between holes suffered the worst from the cool temperatures. With highs in the
80’s(possibly 90 late this week) for the next week and overnight lows hovering around 60 degrees we are
starting to rebound from the cold snap.
The
one thing that we have been lacking has been rain. We haven’t had a measurable
rain in over a month. With the Touchdown Club, Packer
Invitational, and Little Packer tournaments we have been soaking the course to
keep the moisture level in check. Speaking of irrigation, we are hopeful to
have our irrigation pump installed this week. This will be extremely beneficial
for our overall health of the course and will make things easy for me when it
comes to scheduling run times with our irrigation. There is a possibility of a shower this Friday, but I'll believe it when I see it.
Again,
thank you for following us this week as we strive to get better every day. As
always, please feel free to reach out with any questions/comments that you may
have by using this blog, Facebook page, or emailing me at davisjoey@hotmail.com. Thanks
for reading!
See
you on the course!
